Researching key Silk Road regions China, Mongolia, Persia, Egypt, and Europe I explored trade as not only the exchange of goods, but of symbols, techniques, and style .As silk travelled, it absorbed local visual languages florals, spices, silverware, ornamentation, architecture becoming richer through cultural contact. The project parallels this journey with human movement: migration and exchange influence expression without erasing origin. Inspired by a globally travelled woman grounded in Nigerian identity, the consumer profile reflects cultural hybridity as layered influence. Through textile sampling and layered surface development, the work explores how fabric can hold memory, movement, and the quiet evidence of travel.
