SANCTUARY

SANCTUARY explores repair as a visible and time-based process. The project works with broken ceramic vessels and living mycelium to test how damaged objects can be reconnected while keeping their scars visible. Inspired by snail shell repair, mycelium is grown on a fibre-based substrate and applied to cracks, edges and missing areas. The repair is not hidden. Instead, the material growth creates a new visible connection between broken surfaces. Through this process, the object keeps its original damage while carrying a new biological repair trace.
