My project is centred around stimulating empathy with visitors using an interactive design.
Though coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor, they are home to 25% of all marine creatures. It’s been estimated that up to two million species inhabit coral reefs, rivalling the biodiversity of the rain forest.
The reefs provide rich habitat that helps protect young fish as they grow. Unfortunately, climate change is putting coral’s future in danger, along with the millions of species that inhabit the reefs and half-billion people that relay on reef fish for food.
