Part of an ongoing series exploring benches as a site of intimacy, Ghostbusters is a kinetic installation work that weighs the effects of physical and emotional imbalance. The two-part work consists of a see-saw bench placed in front of photographs that record the love tokens of failed relationships. The bench requires two sitters cooperating to find balance. In this way, audiences are asked to communicate, trust, and concentre in front of objects that depict their lack. The illustrated objects are given gravitas by ‘archival’ documentation whilst their hanging plays with the notion of ‘airing dirty laundry’.
