Riki is an artist, bench maker and social engineer. Fascinated by the etiquette of human interaction, their benches create gentle, yet revelatory moments of intimacy that challenge us to consider our relationship with community, agency, and function. To achieve this, they draw from several disciplines including urban planning, psychology, and design. Critically, Riki rejects passive spectatorship and gives her audiences responsibility for the outcomes of their encounter.
